Description

The Training of Trainers workshop provides learners the opportunity to learn the essential learning, skills and tools they need to facilitate the PMD Pro program in their organizations and beyond. This intensive immersion course, is designed to provide people who have already passed PMD Pro with the tools, techniques and above all, the confidence to train their colleagues.

About the Trainer

John Cropper

John Cropper is a dedicated program management professional with extensive international NGO management experience, having worked in over 40 countries. In 2019, he co-founded Pyramid Learning, which provides engaging learning for humanitarian relief and development practioners.

During this training, you will learn:

  • What are trainer commitments?
  • What makes good training and trainers?
  • How does one facilitate PMD Pro?
  • How to adapt to audience?
  • How to manage challenging participants?
  • How to facilitate learners of mixed abilities?
  • How to use the PMD Pro slide deck?
  • How to facilitate learning games?

As a result of attending this training workshop, the participants are expected to:

  • become a certified trainer in PMD Pro 1,
  • train successfully an audience to pass the PMD Pro 1 exam,
  • develop their own training courses and delivering them,
  • validate PMD Pro 1 certification exams.

Intended Audience

This training is aimed at:

  • Experienced program managers (at least 1 year of practical experience);
  • Individuals interested in providing PMD Pro 1 training workshops, and ideally having an upcoming training that they will be facilitating;
  • Ideally, individuals having previous training experience;
  • Individuals and organizations including development, humanitarian environment professions at the local, national or international levels.

Requirements

Participants should have passed PMD Pro 1, ideally with a score of 80% or above, to ensure the participant deeply knows project management techniques, tools, language and processes, and is able to teach effectively its content to an audience. A copy of the certificate may be asked.

Participants should also have practical experience in project management, understanding the project lifecycle and project management practices.

How to register:

We deliver this training to individual practitioners and organizations in several formats, decided upon agreement. This course can take place in English, Arabic or other languages to be decided, online or in-person, as intensive workshop or evening classes.
